Activities and Opportunities
Student Life
Most students take the module "British Life and Culture" (3 US credits), which is designed to help students gain optimum benefit from their study abroad experience and become aware of British culture in its many aspects. Lectures are given on various aspects of British life, culture and history followed by guided field-trips to places of special interest including Brighton, Oxford, Bath, Stonehenge, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, a London theatre show, and the Houses of Parliament. Other than this module, students take the same classes as Kingston students, giving them the opportunity to integrate fully with academic and student life at the university. Each Kingston module is worth 4 US credits, and students take between 12 and 16 US credits per semester. Fall students are strongly advised to take modules which do not have a final examination in January (the Study abroad Office will advise students about their class selections) and thus they can return to the States before the Christmas break. Spring students complete the full semester with all assessments, but have a 2-3 week Spring Break over Easter. Students pick modules from six of the Faculties (departmental groupings) at the University: Business and Law; Art, Design & Architecture; Arts and Social Sciences (Liberal Arts), which also includes the School of Education; Science and the School of Music; Engineering; Computing, Information Systems and Mathematics. See website for details of classes - http://www.kingston.ac.uk/studyabroad/courses. Kingston University takes great pride in the quality of teaching and has received several distinctions in UK university rankings. For more information on the programme, please see the following website: www.kingston.ac.uk/studyabroad

Alumni Feedback
"The program was great. I would recommend it to anyone, especially for the cost of the program."

". . .making friendships from all over the world has definitely made a lasting impression on me and enriched my experience tremendously. For future students who are considering Kingston - I would say Go For It! Kingston is a diverse University with something for everyone to enjoy. It is located close to center London and yet it still has a slower paced atmosphere so you can have the opportunity to experience both aspects of the city."
