During your stay Edge Hill Summer Program you’ll be able to mix with students from all over the world, take in the lakes and scenery on campus, and relax in our cutting-edge sports complex, Sporting Edge. We know that studying in a foreign country can be both a daunting and life-changing experience, so our International Team and academic staff will provide you with dedicated support, from Welcome and Orientation right through to program completion. You’ll be living in the best student housing in the UK (as voted for by the National Student Housing Survey 2016) - with your own your own room and bathroom, as well as a shared space and kitchen to chat with new friends.
When you’re not busy broadening your mind, you’ll broaden your horizons on 5 full-day exursions with us to beautiful places like Manchester, historical York and Chester, Conwy Castle in Wales and the breath-taking Lake District. Back on campus, we'll keep you entertained with pub quizzes, movie nights and socials; you'll ge the full EHU experience, and make friends for life. At the end of the stay you will enjoy a week's visit to our beautiful capital city, London.

Edge Hill University Summer Programs
The Study Abroad Programme is designed to help develop your abilities and knowledge in an inclusive and effective learning envionrment. The focus of the programme is to enhance your academic knowledge through the exploration of the core module, British Culture and Heritage, and your chosen subject (you have the optionof studying Business and Entrepreneurship or The Literary Landscape of the North of England).
British Culture and Heritage - This core module provides a deeper understanding of the context and history which has shaped British society, culture, the political landscape and the position of the United Kingdom in the global arena.
Business & Entrepreneurship - Reviews entrepreneurial skills and small business development through theoretical concepts of enterprise, self-employment and small business management.
The Literary Landscape of the North of England - Introduction to a major theme in British literature and culture, enabling you to appreciate and interpret literary texts in detail, and to understand them in their winder historical contexts.
A Very British Playlist- Investigate the explosion of British music onto the international scene starting from the 1960's and the rise of the Beatles up to the present day. You will examine the power and influence that British music has had on society throughout the decades.
Sports Policy and Practice in the United Kingdom- Explore and experience the context within the UK from community based activity through the complexities of the football lpremier league. The module will investigate large mass marketing events and the legacy of London 2012. It includes a wide range of physical activity.

Assessment takes place throughout the course via the production of an academic portfolio, including individual and group presentations, short pieces of written work and multiple questions tests.
You will receive 10 UK Credits (at level 4) for each module completed (a total of 20 UK credits).

When you aren't studying there are a variety of activities on campus to keep you occupied. Edge Hill’s state-of-the-art Sports Centre offers some of the best sport and fitness facilities in the UK. This includes a varied fitness class timetable, 8-court sports hall, 25m 6-lane swimming pool, 80-station fitness suite with in-built entertainment technology, sauna & steam room, exercise studio, 6 outdoor pitches, 3 floodlit 3G 6-a-side courts, and a competition standard, floodlit 8-lane synthetic athletics track with 2 x 10-lane straights.
The Quad, our on-campus nightclub and adjoining pub, is the hub of student social life on campus: theme nights, quizzes, karaoke, live bands, snooker, satellite TV and a typical British bar are all on offer under one roof. You can guarantee that there is always something happening there! Our on-site Rose Theatre is a favorite of visiting professional theatre and dance companies with about 40 shows each year from Shakespeare to stand-up comedy, as well as weekly movie nights – with free popcorn!
Summer Program students stay in our modern accmodation halls located right on our beautiful campus. Rooms include an en-suite bathroom and all halls have a kitchen/communal area which is shared with up to 6-8 other students from the Program.
You will have access to a fully fitted kitchen and all cooking utensils so you will be able to prepare your own meals with your friends. We have various catering outlets available on campus and a variety of cages, restaurants and shops in Ormskirk town centre (10 minute walk). The beautiful port city of Liverpool as just a 30-minute journey from campus, so whatever your preference, there will be something to keep you entertained.
There is also a 24-hour campus support team if ever you need a hand.
