Student Life & Housing

Housing

Program cost includes accommodation in one of a few different student residence options. Students will be placed into housing by UNYP and placements will be made according to availability of rooms. All residences are in a close proximity of UNYP (5-15 minutes via public transportation or within walking distance).

Housing is in furnished double rooms and may share a bathroom with another double room. Each room has bed, linens, pillow, desk, chair, and bureau. Towels are NOT provided. Students have access to a shared kitchen in a common area and laundry facilities. Residences all have free Wi-Fi.

Activities

UNYP offers a variety of weekday evening activities each term, including scavenger hunts, sunset walks, visits to key parks, etc. that bring students together in informal social contexts. 


UNYP Campus

UNYP’s campus is situated in Vinohrady - a quiet, upscale neighborhood in central Prague. Facilities combine 19th-century architectural charm with 21st-century teaching and technology, and a full university administration dedicated to supporting students. The library houses textbooks and study materials, as well as an online database access system.

Health Care & Services

Counseling services are available free to charge to all students through UNYP's confidential Counseling Center.  All students receive CISI travel insurance.

Get Involved

Student clubs offer the opportunity to get involved outside of the classroom and to make an impact on the Czech community.

Withdrawal Policy

         
Deposit

* Please note there is a $500 non-refundable confirmation deposit for the summer due 2 weeks after acceptance. This deposit will be applied to the total program cost.
 

Costs included:  Tuition for three credits (or six credits if the 2 course option is selected), housing, health insurance, pre-departure orientation, on-site orientation, airport pickup on designated arrival day, city transportation pass, transport to housing, and weekday activities.

Costs not included: Meals, airfare, books, personal expenses.

Eligibility & Deadlines

Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum class standing - students must have completed at least one semester (minimum 12 semester credit hours) of college-level coursework at the time of application.
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Students must be at least 18 years of age

- One letter of recommendation from a teacher who knows the applicant from a classroom setting
- Statement of purpose
