Financing Your Study Abroad

To help you navigate the confusing world of government financial aid and scholarships, we’re providing you with some simple steps and resources.

Did you know that 90% of undergraduate students use financial aid to fund their undergraduate education?
And that those same government funds are available for use on your study abroad program?

Explore Your Options


Meet with your study abroad advisor and financial aid office to learn about study abroad and government aid on your campus.
Research grants and scholarships. Look through the resources below and talk to your study abroad office about local scholarships.
Develop a budget and plan ahead. Consider your living expenses, some countries are more affordable than others, and develop a budget to help you stay on track while abroad.

The Institute for American Universities (IAU) Scholarship

Where: Aix-en-Provence, France, Barcelona, Spain and traveling seminars to Europe and North Africa (multi-country)
