The American College of Thessaloniki, a division of Anatolia College, is an independent, non- profit, liberal arts college. Anatolia College is an American-sponsored, private educational institution founded in 1886. ACT offers a four-year Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science program and 1-2 year MBA to over 500 students from over 20 countries. Classes held at Anatolia's beautiful 45-acre campus are small enough to ensure close interaction between the professor and student. Many of the campus buildings overlook the historic and scenic city below.

Course Offerings

The American College of Thessaloniki offers programs of study in the arts and sciences, and in business administration. All coursework is taught in English, and no prior study or knowledge of Greek language is required. CCIS students choose one or two courses from the course offering CCIS students may take additional courses or credits other than the 3 or 6 credits offered on the CCIS program by paying additional tuition per credit directly to the American College of Thessaloniki.

Academic Highlights

Summer students take one or two three-credit courses. Students are encouraged to take a Greek language course if they do not speak Greek, however there is no requirement that students take a language course.

Computer Science 211: Fundamentals of Wireless LANs
STAT 305: Statistics II
Introduction to Open Sea Sailing (with Certificate option) (1 or 3 credits)

The program is open to students with a 2.5 GPA and at least college freshman standing

 

Student Life

Students live in off campus accommodation in downtown Thessaloniki. Rooms and studios in apartment complexes are all fully furnished (including kitchen appliances in individual studios or in common areas), and are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Both single and double-occupancy options exist. Off-campus housing locations are well served by the city's reliable bus system with buses running at 10-15 minute intervals. Extracurricular activities are an important part of the program, including cross-cultural orientation programs, excursions, museum visits, archaeological digs, dance classes, and student clubs. Excursions may include Athens, Vergina-Dion, Meteora and Mount Athos.

 

Housing

Housing is in comfortable furnished single or double studios (with private baths and kitchenettes) in apartment complexes located in the city's center.  Students are responsible for their own meals. Students often eat on campus, in cafes, and by shopping and preparing meals in their residences.

3 credits - $3,485

6 credits - $4,640

Costs Included

Instructional costs abroad, program related field trip, fees, pre-departure and on-site orientations, sickness and accident insurance, airport pickup.

Costs Not Included

Airfare ($1,100-1,500), refundable deposit ($200), housing (Single: $680, Double: $480), meals ($350-$750 per month), personal costs ($250-$700), books ($90-$140), and school of record fee if applicable.
