About China – Internship Locations
Beijing
Beijing is the traditional seat of power in China and currently one of the most influential cities in the world. In the past, it has been home to China’s ruling imperial families, and the city still serves as the country’s heart, as well as its political, educational and cultural hub. Beijing is full of shopping malls, high rises, testaments to times past, and young entrepreneurs ready to make their mark on the vast landscape of the Chinese market. The city is as complex as it is compelling and offers some of the most iconic sights and experiences within China.
Shanghai
Shanghai made its start as a traditional trading port and today remains a stronghold for globalized consumerism. As the heart of commercialism in China, shopping malls, markets, and international influence make it a uniquely modern experience with easily accessible western media and food. Shanghai also houses one of the fastest-growing stock markets in the world. Older generations still maintain their family-owned shops and can be seen playing Mahjong between the highly commercial shops. During the internship, you have the chance to take advantage of the fast-paced and exciting dynamics of the landscape of Shanghai.
Shenzhen
Shenzhen is known as China’s “Silicon Valley” for good reason, the city and the businesses it houses are constantly innovating and creating new technology at a dazzling rate. Shenzhen’s newfound influence attracts increasing investment from within both China and foreign businesses. Shenzhen also has the unique attribute of being a coastal city, allowing interns the unique chance to cool off by the ocean. From inside the city, there are plenty of theme parks, clubs, and parks for you to enjoy at the end of a busy week. Interning in Shenzhen is an exciting and fast-paced experience that is unique within the broad scope of Chinese cities.
