Program Overview

USFQ Global Online (GO) is a new, blended learning intitiative aimed at making international educatino accessible to all students and further developing international partnerships.  Through this program, students will learn alongside, and share a classroom with individuals from all over the world.  The objective is to create an immersiv, online classroom experience that allows studetns to acquire new global knowledge and skills.

Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Quito 

Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) is a four-year liberal arts institution with approximately 7,000 students, ten percent of whom are international students. The Ecuadorian government recognizes USFQ as one of Ecuador's leading institutions of higher learning. USFQ opened in 1988 and is located in the beautiful suburb of Cumbayá, a short ride from the city's center. Students also learn first-hand about contemporary issues and trends in Latin America.

Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) is a private liberal arts university located in Quito, Ecuador. In addition to the main campus located in Cumbaya/ Quito, USFQ has a satellite campus and research station in the Galápagos Islands and a biological field station “Tiputini Biodiversity Station” in the Amazon basin. USFQ offers international students the opportunity to study in Ecuador for a semester, year, or summer.

Students can choose the Spanish courses from across USFQ's ten colleges. USFQ offers hundreds of online courses each semester. USFQ online courses taught in Spanish can be found here.

Online Research and Further Field Work Opportunities

Additionally, there are opportunities to participate in Online Research Projects. Students will participate in a problem-based approach to research and receive 4-5 hours per week of direct access to lead researchers and further mentoring opportunities. There will be an optional excursion at the end of the semester where students can visit Ecuador to conduct field work associated with their courses or research projects.
